HEATER APPLICATIONS

IMPROVE CURRENT HEATING EFFICIENCY: Heat the area you wish to occupy to the temperature you desire using your current heating system, for example, 68F. Close doors to rooms that will not be occupied, thereby lessening the area to be heated. Turn on your EcoSunTec Infrared Heater and find the corresponding Heater or Temperature (thermostat) setting** which matches 68F. For the IMAP-1000, 8 and the IAP-1000, 5. Turn your thermostat for your central heating system down to around 62-64F. Your heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain the desired temperature. By keeping the temperature around 68F, your central heating system will not engage, thereby saving you dollars. This assumes the area you are in most of the day is around 1000 sq. ft. or less. If you move from area to area, you can easily roll the heater from area to area. The concept is simple. Keep the area around you warm while the rest of your living or work area maintains a lower temperature. Who cares if the guest bedroom gets chilly?
 
If you have the requirement to heat significantly more than 1000 sq. ft., follow the same logic noted above and deploy two EcoSunTec heaters. It works, and the percentage of savings is just as great. If one or more heaters can heat your living or work area to the desired level, cut off your central heat and let the EcoSunTec heater(s) handle your complete heating requirement.
 
This same logic applies to living and work areas that have more than one central heating unit. For example, cut the upstairs heating unit off. Let the warm air from downstairs heat the upstairs. If you still need more heat upstairs, deploy the EcoSunTec heater. That may be more economical than engaging the upstairs central heat unit.
 
If you have ceiling fans, run them in the reverse mode and on slow speed. This forces the heat down and adds to your heat efficiency regardless of how you heat your living or work area.
 
If you live or work in a small area, think of your EcoSunTec heater as your every day sole heating source.
 
Generally, EcoSunTec heater savings are greater if your central heating source is natural or liquid propane gas or heating oil. In most situations, central electric heat is more efficient (costs less) than natural or liquid propane gas and heating oil. However, when the “heat strips” in an electric heat system are engaged, the cost of electric central heat goes up dramatically. In this situation, the EcoSunTec heater can greatly reduce heat costs.
 
SUPPLEMENTAL HEAT SOURCE: If there is a small area or room that does not warm up as well as the rest of your living or work area, the EcoSunTec heater may be the answer for relatively little cost. The same application, with the activation of heat strips in central electric heat units, applies here as well.
 
DRY HEAT: All heat is dry heat unless it has a source of moisture. Your eyes, throat and skin may get dry and uncomfortable. The EcoSunTec IMAP-1000 heater humidifier feature puts moisture in the air along with heat. Your comfort improves and “it makes 68 degrees feel like 72 degrees”.
 
CLEAN AIR: Air purification feature on both units kills germs as air flows through the EcoSunTec heater. These features operate independently from the heat mode, thereby making your unit a year-round product.
 
TEMPERATURE SETTING** (thermostat operation):
IMAP-1000: Heater Settings 1-15, 50F-85F. Example, 1=50F, 5=60F, 9=70F, 13=80F. Each setting is
approximately 2 1/2F higher or lower than the adjacent settings.
IAP-1000: Temperature Settings 1-16, 60F-90F. Example, 1=60F, 5=68F, 9=76F, 13=84F. Each setting is
approximately 2F higher or lower than adjacent settings.
 
**The temperature settings are not exact. The settings and corresponding temperatures will vary according to your thermostat. The key here is to calibrate heater settings 01 – 15/16 with your thermostat. For example, if the thermostat is set at 68F and the heater setting 10 cycles off, then the thermostat setting at 68F and heater setting 10 are compatible. The heater setting could easily be a different number. You are familiar with your thermostat, so adjust the heater setting to the thermostat. In this example, turn your thermostat down to 62-64F and leave the calibrated heater setting in place. The heater should cycle on and off automatically keeping the 1000 sq.ft. at approximately 68F and your central heat system remains off. Working the heater setting with your thermostat is key to good results.

Is this heater like the one on TV?

YES, and it’s even better. Not only does this heater produce quality infrared heat, it cleans and purifies the air that flows through the unit. The humidifier (IMAP-1000), operation optional, can actually add humidity to the air, thereby making the temperature feel warmer than its actual reading. It adds to your health by not drying out your sinuses or drying out your skin – provides therapeutic heat. You get the same quality infrared heat with two additional features, AIR PURIFICATION and a HUMIDIFIER, at a lower price.

 
What is the difference between quartz bulb and ceramic infrared heat?

First of all, infrared heat is infrared heat regardless of how it is produced. Early on the quartz bulbs resembled the lights on the outside of houses to light the yard. They have improved in size to about eight inches long and about as big around as your index finger, a tube like look. Manufacturer’s warranty ranges from one to five years. Replacement cost can be expensive.  The ceramic heat elements are wrapped in metal for ultimate protection against cracking which is common among quartz bulbs. It has proven to be extremely durable and economical to operate. For example, quality saunas in today’s market utilize ceramic infrared technology – this speaks volumes about ceramic versus quartz bulb infrared technology.

 
How much does it cost to operate the IMAP – 1000?

If an infrared heater (Brand A) is using approximately 1500 watts to power the unit and if a competitive infrared heater (Brand B) is using approximately 1500 watts to power itself, then the cost to operate the heaters is approximately the same – 1500 watts usage is 1500 watts usage. The cost to operate a unit has two variables, the power consumption and the cost per KWH from the electric company. The IMAP – 1000 cost of operation is approximately as follows: 1500W, $.13-$.15/hour; 1100W, $.10-$.12/hour; 650W, $.05-$.07/hour.

EcoSunTec IMAP-1000 “Three in One Product” utilizes UV air purification which gives off ultraviolet light in short wavelengths designed to kill germs. As the air is drawn through the rear of the heater, it passes over the high intensity UV light, a known mutagen which destroys nucleic acids at a molecular level. Exposure to UV air purifiers kills 99% of germs in the air flow. UV light has the means to mutate bacteria, viruses, mold, fungi and VOC (volatile organic compounds) micro-organisms which consist of a single cell. The UV light destroys these types of organisms and adds another level of cleanliness which has a positive effect on one’s health. The air purification feature operates independent of the heat function thereby providing additional value on a year round basis.

EcoSunTec IAP-1000 “Two in One Product” utilizes photocatalytic oxidation air purification which is achieved when you combine UV light rays with a Ti02 (titanium oxide) coated filter. This approach creates hydroxyl radicals and super-oxide ions which are highly reactive electrons. These highly reactive electrons aggressively combine with other elements in the air such as bacteria and VOCs. Once bound together the chemical reaction takes place between the super charged ion and the pollutant, effectively oxidizing or burning the pollutant. This breaks the pollutant down into harmless carbon dioxide and water molecules, making the air more purified and reducing odor in the process. This advanced air purification method benefits those with asthma, allergies and chemical sensitivity. The air purification feature operates independent of the heat function thereby providing additional value on a year round basis.
 
 

HUMIDIFICATION

EcoSunTec IMAP-1000 “Three in One Product” incorporates a humidifier as an optional feature of the unit. Infrared heat does not remove moisture from the air which aids the distribution of heat. The humidifier gives you the capability of adding moisture to the air. The increased moisture makes the heat feel warmer than its actual temperature. Thus the old saying, “it makes 68F feel like 72F”. Yes, the heater operates safely and efficiently without engaging the humidifier.

EcoSunTec, LLC was formed in May, 2009. Prior to starting this company, one of the two partners spent several years developing the infrared heater market. He was the first to combine moisture and air purification in the same unit housing an infrared heater. He also was one of the first to market the Positive Thermal Coefficient ceramic heat element departing from quartz bulb technology.

After several years of wholeselling to leading infrared heater companies, he decided to distribute direct to dealers under the EcoSunTec brand. In forming the company, he joined a lifelong friend and established the business in their hometown of Lexington, SC. EcoSunTec sells direct via the internet and through dealers on a nationwide basis.

EcoSunTec’s liability under this warranty is limited to repair, or at EcoSunTec’s discretion, replacement without charge, except for transportation. All shipping and handling charges on parts or units submitted under this warranty shall be paid by the purchaser. EcoSunTec shall perform all warranty work at its repair center or at authorized service centers.

Units returned after the warranty period or those that do not have a valid serial number will be repaired for a reasonable charge. The customer will be advised of repair charge before proceeding. This warranty will not apply to any unit which EcoSunTec determines with reasonable judgment has been subject to improper maintenance, alteration, misuse, negligence, accident or damage resulting from improper service by those not authorized by EcoSunTec to perform such work. Usage with any voltage other than what is specified will void the warranty.

All warranties implied by law including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly limited to the duration of the limited warranties set forth above.

With exception of damages resulting from EcoSunTec’s failure to comply with any obligation under Federal or State Warranty Law, EcoSunTec shall not be liable to the purchaser or anyone else for damages including, but not limited to consequential damages, and damages by reason of injury to any person due to defect or malfunction of the unit, or any part or parts therein, or for any other reason. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

EcoSunTec supports its dealer network return policy up to 30 days from purchase. The unit must be returned to the original purchase location for a refund. The product must be in its original condition, packed with original packing material to include the delivery box, manuals and accessories that come with the heater. lf any of the above items are missing or damaged, a re-stock fee may be applied or credit may not be issued.

lf the unit was purchased directly from EcoSunTec, a return authorization number (RAN) must be obtained by calling 803-319-4836. All returns must include a RAN. Units returned without proper authorization will be charged a re-stocking fee. Any claim for damaged items must be submitted to us within seven (7) business days after delivery. All shipping and handling charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. We recommend you ship via FedEx or UPS for proper tracking and insure the package. You are responsible for returning the unit to our return facility undamaged and in good working order.
